Division One
Steady Tony leads Saracens B to convincing win
Tony Stead was on top form for Saracens B as he won all his singles in straight games to help his team beat Winchcombe Wizards 8-2. Junior Sam White and Judy Morley also played well for their two wins each. For the Wizards, Rob Lane beat Judy and Chris Lane beat Sam.

Smiths A destroyed Winchcombe Cavaliers with their third 10-0 win in a row. They have now built up a lead of twenty points and are beginning to run away with the Division One title.

Bill Dawe and Guy Greening both had maximums as Chelsea B.S. eased to a 7-3 win against Cheltenham A.

A Brian McRandle treble was not enough to save Saracens A as they went down 7-3 to a good all round performance from a strong Cirencester side.

Division Two
Can anyone catch Smiths B?
Smiths B were in devastating mood when they handed out a whitewash to Saracens D.  Although some of the sets were not as easy as the score line suggests, Smiths were always in the driving seat. Andy East, Dave Dawkins and Ken Smith as the result shows, all gained maximums and finally Andy East and Dave Dawkins teamed up to win the doubles, just to rub salt into the wound, thus recording their first 10-0 victory of the season, whilst extending their lead at the top to an incredible 35 points at this early stage.

Saracens C were held to a 5-5 draw by Smiths D in a match between two teams who were trying to rise away from the foot of Division 2.  In what was a tense battle Mike Gleeson recorded a maximum for Smiths and was helped by Dave Mackman and Chris Williams with 1 win apiece, whilst for Saracens Dave Foulser scored 2 wins with 1 set each for Dave and Martin Cosnette, who surprisingly beat Williams 11-0 in one of his sets. This left the doubles to decide a victory for Smiths or a draw for Saracens, and the draw was the outcome when the Saracens pairing of Foulser and Martin Cosnette just edged out the Smiths duo of Mackman and Gleeson in the fifth game.

Cheltenham C were involved in a tense match against Smiths C with the score being tied at 5 sets all and nearly half the matches being won in the fifth game.  Milan Dragojlovic was in fine form and gained a maximum, assisted by Grant and Niall Pawsey who both won 1 set for Cheltenham C, whilst for Smiths C Paul Singh and Chris White won 2 sets apiece and managed to draw the match for Smiths by winning the doubles.

Division Three
Harvey hangs on for treble
Saracens E continued their charge towards the title with an emphatic 10-0 victory against an understrength CCS B side. CCS B could only manage to field two players, and Tony Iles, Mike Barwick and Neil Penny eased to comfortable victories in straight sets. Geoff Foster did manage to take a game off Barwick, but that was the only resistance that CCS B could muster.

Tewkesbury A recorded a convincing 9-1 win over Saracens F thanks to maximums from Rob Amphlett and Mike Tyrrell. John Goodchild picked up a brace, and was defeated by Pete McGeough, who picked up Saracens solitary point. Tyrrell had to battle hard to claim his maximum, as he was pushed all the way by John Adcock in an entertaining match. Amphlett and Tyrrell teamed up to win a close doubles encounter with Adcock and McGeough.

Tirley Tigers kept up the pressure at the top of the table with a 6-4 win over 2-man CCS A. Pete Humble maintained his recent good form, claiming two good wins, including a fine five-set victory over Steve Murton. However, Murton was far too strong for Elaine Marshall and Elaine Evans. Jeremy Turberville also beat Evans and combined with Murton to take the doubles 11-9 in the fifth.

Cheltenham D proved too strong for Winchcombe CCC as they claimed a 7-3 victory. Alan Harvey was the pick of the players, picking up a maximum without dropping a single set. However, John Teare was in sensational form for Winchcombe, overcoming both Matt Mulcahy and Andy Dyke in five sets. His match against Dyke was an enthralling hard-fought encounter, with Teare edging it 10-12, 11-9, 11-8, 9-11, 12-10. He then combined with Roly Holder to easily defeat Harvey and Richard Gummow in the doubles.

Division Four
Eagles still flying high
This was a tough week for some of the Cheltenham teams. The F side lost 8-2 to Tewkesbury C, for whom Roger Powell made his debut, and along with team mate John Brayne, secured a maximum. The E side lost by the same score to Tewkesbury B. Alison Lockley continued her good form by winning all three of her sets, as did Tom Urbanski.

Winchcombe Eagles remain on top after defeating Cheltenham H 10-0. They followed this up with a 9-1 win over a useful Tewkesbury C side, which included a re-match of the two players who at present head the individual averages. John Brayne edged out Tiffany Hopton in a five set thriller, but was then forced to concede to Adam Andrews and Derek Brown.
