Division One
Wizards spell trouble for the Cav's
Bottom club Winchcombe Wizards picked up only their second win of the season at the expense of club mate the Cavaliers. Nick Davidson was their star player with wins over Darrel Wiltshire and Luke Moffat, both in five, on his way to a maximum. He also had good support from Chris Lane who chipped in with two sets to secure the 7-3 win. Darrel Wiltshire was the Cavaliers best man by winning two sets.

Veteran Roy Fowler stunned Smiths A with two wins, both in straight games, over Nick Mytton and Mark Bilsborrow to help Saracens A record a draw against the current Champions. No mean feat for a player who is still recovering from a recent broken rib. Things didn't look good for Saracens when Mytton beat Brian McRandal in the first set, but McRandal bounced back to beat Bilsborrow and Hartwell. Pete Wood also beat Bilsborrow but lost to Mytton and Hartwell. Fowler lost to Hartwell and Smiths saved the game on the doubles.

Cirencester extended their unbeaten run to five games as they battled to a draw against Chelsea B.S.. Bill Dawe took his usual maximum for Chelsea, and Dave Adamson gained a brace for Cirencester including a good win over Guy Greening.

Len Vowles, back for Cheltenham A, won all his singles and Lawrence Shahlaei chipped in with a brace as they beat Saracens B 6-4. Michael Harvey was Saracens best player with two wins.

Division Two
Paul has Sara's 'Singh'ing for their supper
The encounter between Saracens D and Smiths C ended with a  9-1 victory in Smiths favour, although the matches were a lot closer than the final score suggests.  Of the 10 sets played, 7 were resolved in the fifth and final game which were all won by Smiths.  For Smiths Chris White and Paul Singh both won maximums assisted by 2 sets for Barrie Pope, whilst for Saracens the single win was gained by Dennis Wadley.  The doubles was again won in  the fifth game by the Smiths pairing of Barrie Pope and Paul Singh over the Saracens duo of Dennis Wadley and Terry Sims.

Cheltenham C just edged the contest between 2 teams near the foot of the table when they beat Smiths D by 6-4.  Once again Milan Dragojlovic carried his Cheltenham side by gaining a maximum, with 2 sets for Niall Pawsey and for Smiths Chris Williams captured 2 wins with 1 win apiece for Julie Taylor and Dave Mackman, this left the doubles to decide either a win for Cheltenham C or a drawn contest.  As it transpired the Cheltenham C combination of Niall and Milan triumphed over Chris and Dave of Smiths in the fifth game to set up a 6-4 win.

Smiths B kept up their unbeaten run when they played their nearest rivals Cheltenham B and won by 6-4.  The fact that half the matches were won in the fifth game shows how close the contest was and although Dave Green of Cheltenham B won a maximum it was the combined team effort of Ken Smith and Andy East who both won 2 sets assisted by a 1 set win from Andy Richards.  To ensure the win the Smiths pairing just edged the doubles in the fifth game despite Cheltenham B's best efforts.

Division Three
Tigers are humbled
Tewkesbury A kept up their fine form with an emphatic 10-0 victory over title rivals Tirley Tigers. John Goodchild, Rob Amphlett and Mike Tyrrell were all in commanding form as they claimed a most impressive victory. Even the in form Pete Humble could not stop them!

Saracens E cruised to a 9-1 victory against club colleagues Saracens F. Tony Iles and Neil Penny picked up comfortable maximums for the E team, whilst Sheila Matthews claimed the F team's solitary point with a straight sets victory over Mike Barwick. Matthews combined with Tony Child to battle through a five-set doubles in which they were unlucky not to prevail.

Cheltenham D and CCS A battled out a hard-earned 5-5 draw. CCS A were without inspirational captain Steve Murton, but a brace from Jeremy Turberville led the way. Alan Harvey was again in imperious form for Cheltenham, picking up three victories in straight sets, including a win over the previously unbeaten John Downey. Matt Mulcahy followed this and equalled this feat, but he was unable to beat Doug Blades. Turberville and Downey combined to defeat the doubles partnership of Harvey and Richard Gummow.

Division Four
Ryan makes all the difference
The top two sides both recorded useful wins to extend the gap between them and the rest of the division. Wayne Lippett and Roger Tyrell secured maximums for Tewkesbury B in their 8-2 win against a young Cheltenham F side, for whom Pat McKenna and Ed Cheadle won narrow victories over Sam Tennant.

In the Tewkesbury derby, the C team were without John Brayne and were swept aside by their B side who won each of their sets in three games to gain a 10-0 victory.

Winchcombe Eagles beat Winchcombe Panthers by the same score, although Mike Fisher and Tom Morrison took two games each off Mick Holder and Tiffany Hopton respectively.

Cheltenham F won their first match of the season, thanks to a maximum from new boy Ryan Makepiece. Matt Williams and Michael Brook weighed in with one victory each, and also won a five game doubles.
