Division One
Wizards hit good spell
There were mixed fortunes for Champions Smiths A this week. First they narrowly beat Cirencester 6-4, despite an outstanding performance from Dave Adamson, who beat Nick Mytton, Mark Bilsborrow and Matt Hartwell. Smiths rallied though and won the game on the doubles.

But in a re-arranged game later in the week Smiths A lost to Chelsea B.S. for the second time this season. Chelsea's Bill Dawe picked up a maximum and Guy Greening won two, which with the doubles enabled Chelsea to win 6-4.

In a close derby match, Saracens B just scraped home 6-4 winners on the doubles against their A team. Both Tony Stead and Roy Morley won two each, whilst Suzie Robinson and Pete Wood won two each for Saracens A.

A Guy Greening Maximum was not enough to give Chelsea B.S. a win against bottom club Winchcombe Wizards. The Wizards, who's fortunes have improved over recent weeks, fought hard and came away with a well deserved draw, with Nick Davidson and Stewart Ratcliffe claiming two wins each.

Division Two
Lights out for Cosnette
Saracens C came off second best to Cheltenham C in a match that was closely contested by two teams at the wrong end of the table and resulted in a 7-3 victory for the young Cheltenham C team.  Milan Dragojlovic proved too strong for his opponents and scored a maximum as did Niall Pawsey, although Pawsey was lucky to win Martin Cosnette on match point as Cosnette flipped a high backhander which would have more than likely scored had it not have been denied by a light bulb. Grant Pawsey chipped in with 1 set. Saracens C won their sets courtesy of Dave Foulser and Dave Cosnette who both won 1 set each and then Martin and Dave Cosnette linked up to capture the doubles to help their cause.

The match between Cheltenham B and Smiths C was a close fought affair resulting in a 6-4 win for Cheltenham B. With both teams composed of experienced players it seemed that the home advantage edged it in favour of Cheltenham B.  For Smiths C Chris White and Paul Singh both won 2 sets apiece and for Cheltenham both Dave Green and Mike Fry won 2 sets apiece with Jon Gaskill chipping in with 1. The doubles decided the winner, which Cheltenham B just claimed in the fifth game to register a 6-4 victory.

Winchcombe Warriors recorded a comprehensive 8 sets to 2 victory over Saracens D which will help their search for possible promotion.  Neil Lawrie scored a maximum and was assisted by Mike Vick and Rob Lane who both won 2 sets apiece.  For Saracens D Mike Dodwell won 2 hard earned sets but they could not manage to scramble the doubles to lessen their defeat.

Smiths D were unable to capitalise on their club mates Smiths B inability to field more than 2 players and were eventually beaten by 6-4. Although they were given 3 sets start, Smiths D could only manage a 1 set win which was a a good victory for Julie Taylor over Andy East.  Andy Richards played a captains innings for Smiths B and gained a maximum assisted by Andy East who captured 2 sets and teamed up with Andy Richards to take the doubles and secure victory.

Division Three
Tigers are humbled
Tewkesbury A kept up their fine form with an emphatic 10-0 victory over title rivals Tirley Tigers. John Goodchild, Rob Amphlett and Mike Tyrrell were all in commanding form as they claimed a most impressive victory. Even the in form Pete Humble could not stop them!

Saracens E cruised to a 9-1 victory against club colleagues Saracens F. Tony Iles and Neil Penny picked up comfortable maximums for the E team, whilst Sheila Matthews claimed the F team's solitary point with a straight sets victory over Mike Barwick. Matthews combined with Tony Child to battle through a five-set doubles in which they were unlucky not to prevail.

Cheltenham D and CCS A battled out a hard-earned 5-5 draw. CCS A were without inspirational captain Steve Murton, but a brace from Jeremy Turberville led the way. Alan Harvey was again in imperious form for Cheltenham, picking up three victories in straight sets, including a win over the previously unbeaten John Downey. Matt Mulcahy followed this and equalled this feat, but he was unable to beat Doug Blades. Turberville and Downey combined to defeat the doubles partnership of Harvey and Richard Gummow.

Division Four
Panthers pounce
Gary Cull was the star for Winchcombe Panthers as they recorded their second win of the season, overcoming Cheltenham E 7-3. Gary won all three of his singles, and was well supported by Alan Cull and Mike Fisher who won two each.  Four of the sets went to five games, all of which went Panther’s way.

The in form Jamie Makepiece did well to take two sets off Tewkesbury B, beating Tom Urbanski and Roger Tyrell. He also pushed Wayne Lippett hard, losing 11-13 in the fifth. Tewkesbury won 8-2, with Wayne recording a maximum.

More maximums for Chris Foster and Alisdair Naulls secured an 8-2 victory for Cheltenham H against Cheltenham F. Ed Cheadle and Michael Brook recorded wins for the F side.

Mick Holder and Derek Brown were in good form for Winchcombe Eagles in their 9-1 success over Cheltenham E, but a dogged display from Richard Maint against Tiffany Hopton earned him a five game victory to avoid the whitewash. Eagles followed this up with a 10-0 win over Cheltenham F.
