Division One
Wizards Suffer Weak Spell Against Smiths

Smiths A are looking like a force to be reckoned with after demolishing Winchcombe Wizards by a score line of 10-0. Stewart Ratcliffe for the Wizards played well and took a game off Nick Mytton and then pushed Doug Payne all the way eventually losing in a close deciding fifth set. Chris Lane also pushed Doug Payne all the way losing in a closing fifth set and looks to have been a little unlucky in coming away with zero points.

Chelsea Building Society completed a 7-3 victory over Saracens A. The Saracens team did little to trouble the dynamic duo of Bill Dawe and Guy Greening who each won a maximum. The Saracens team comprising, Rich Moores, Roy Fowler and Bob Trimble won one each against an out of form Dave Metcalfe.

Division Two
Saracens Battle Plan Pays Off

Saracens C completed a comfortable 7-3 victory over Tewkesbury A in division two. A maximum for Mike Dodwell led the way, which included a very good five-set win over Rob Amphlett, who had been two sets to one up. Ross Greening bagged a brace and Terry Sims won a further point to claim the victory for Saracens. A straight-sets win for the combination of Dodwell and Greening in the doubles over Amphlett and John Goodchild was the icing on the cake.

Smiths D emerged 6-4 winners in an impressive performance against Winchcombe Warriors. However, it was the Warriors’ Richard Bishop who remained unbeaten on the night, although he was pushed all the way to claim his maximum. This was none more apparent than during his victory against Chris Ball, who was leading by two sets to love in the early stages. However, Bishop came back from an almost impossible position to win 8-11, 7-11, 12-10, 13-11, 12-10. Ball was similarly unlucky against Dave MacIntosh, losing in five close sets again and 13-11 in the fifth. Mike Gleeson and Julie Taylor picked up good braces for Smiths and then combined excellently in the doubles to take the match.
