Division One
Rudford Edge Win
Rudford and Cheltenham A produced an exciting and close game, with Rudford just coming out on top with a 6-4 win on the doubles. Dave Harvey won his three for Cheltenham, but Rudford fought back with Dave Hope and Aled Howell both beating Mike and Robert Harvey.

Cheltenham C consolidated their position in third place with a fine 8-2 win over Saracens A. Harry Shahlaei was untroubled in claiming his maximum and was well supported with two each from brother Laurence, and John Atkinson. Pete Wood took both Sara's points with wins over John and Laurence.

Smiths A cruised to an 8-2 victory over Cirencester, but the match was a lot closer than the score suggests. Nick Mytton and Mark Bilsborrow were both unbeaten for Smiths, and Dave Kolesmik was unlucky for Ciren in losing his three games all in the fifth set.

A Guy Greening treble plus two each from Dave Metcalfe and Simon Moysey gave Chelsea B.S. a welcomed 8-2 win over Winchcombe Cavaliers.

Cheltenham B continued their run of recent good wins with a comprehensive 10-0 whitewash of bottom club Smiths B. Milan Dragojlovic, Judy Morley and Dominic Wynn-Sands all scored maximums. Smiths however put up some stern resistance with a lot of deuce games just going against them.

Bill Dawe scored a maximum as Chelsea beat Smiths C 7-3. Smiths Craig Hayward had good wins over Dave Metcalfe and Simon Moysey.

Division Two
Wizards Conjure  Up Whitewash

Cheltenham D completed a convincing 8-2 win over Saracens D, despite the defiance and form of Mark Nally. John Gaskell picked up yet another maximum, whilst Dave Green and Mike Fry supported with two wins apiece. Nally picked up Saracens’ points with two fine wins, a straight sets victory over Fry and a tight five-set encounter against Green, eventually winning 8-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5.

Cheltenham E and CCS A battled out a draw in a close match. Christine Williams of Cheltenham won all of her matches and Steve Murton and Jon Nixon of CCS A picked up braces. The deciding doubles saw Cheltenham clinch a draw. The combination of Williams and Andy Dyke just edged out Murton and Nixon 10-12, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7.

Winchcombe Wizards swept to a comfortable 10-0 win against Tirley Tigers, although Pete Humble offered some resistance. Keith Ferguson, Chris Lane and Stewart Ratcliffe all claimed maximums, although both Ferguson and Ratcliffe were troubled by Humble. Indeed, Ferguson came back from being 2-1 down to win 11-9 in the fifth set. Ferguson and Ratcliffe proved too strong for Humble and Lesley Dewick in the doubles.

Saracens B put Tewkesbury A firmly in their place with a 9-1 win, although the matches were a lot closer than the score line suggests. There were maximums for Mike Dodwell and Ross Greening, but not without some scares. Greening fought back from 2-1 down to beat John Goodchild 11-9 in the fifth. And in a game of fast hitting, Dodwell scraped past Simon Lockley 12-10, 9-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-9. Terry Sims won twice for Saracens, losing out to Mike Tyrrell, who claimed Tewkesbury’s solitary point. Dodwell and Greening fought back from 2-0 down to defeat Goodchild and Lockley in an exciting doubles contest.

Winchcombe Warriors put in a strong performance to defeat Smiths D 7-3. Maximums from John Teare and Mike Vick set them on their way. Vick was rarely troubled, but Teare had to work hard to see off Julie Taylor. Dick Prior also picked up one win for the Warriors, defeating Mike Gleeson in four games. Taylor and Chris Ball both claimed points with useful wins over Prior. However, Ball and Gleeson were too strong in the doubles, picking up a useful further point for Smiths D in a four-set win.

Division Three
All Guns Blazing For Servicemen
A splendid team effort from Cheltenham G produced a 7-3 win over a Tewkesbury C side which included in-form Alan Cook. George Deacon led the way for Cheltenham, winning all three of his sets, whilst Karl Foster and Sean Whitelow won two and one respectively. Sean and George teamed up to win the doubles.

Although Cheltenham L went down 3-7 to Winchcombe Eagles, they caused their opponents plenty of trouble, with Tom Morrison, Ben Meikle and Andy Sutherland all performing well. For the Eagles Mick Holder led the way, winning all three of his sets. Ben Meikle and Daniel Crook fought out an absorbing battle with Ben eventually coming out on top 7-11, 11-8,11-7,7-11 13-11.

Civil Service B had too many answers for Cheltenham H in their 10-0 win, although Zac France did well to take Geoff Wilson to five games.
