100% Records Fall In Cheltenham Derby
Winchcombe Cavaliers played
Winchcombe Roamers in
a match that saw a narrow victory for the Cavaliers and the loss of Nick
Mytton's one hundred percent record. Cavaliers player, Choi Sze To, was the star
of this match winning all of her games, including a very straight forward win
over Matt Hartwell. One does have to wonder here whether Matt had an alternative
motive for this easy defeat? Choi was backed up by her team mate Tristan Gretton
who won two games that included a good win over Nick Mytton. Choi and Tristan
then combined to win the doubles and secure a narrow victory. The Roamers four
points were secured by Matt Hartwell with two wins over Tristan Gretton and
Darrell Wiltshire and Nick Mytton and Doug with one win each over Darrell
Wiltshire.

Tigers Humble G Men
Tirley Tigers continued their unbeaten run,
overcoming Cheltenham G 8-2. Pete Humble was
a comfortable winner of his three sets, supported by Len Agg and Janie Kirby who
won two each. The main resistance came from Jon Laramy who beat Len and Janie.
A maximum for Jeremy Turberville of Civil Service B was not enough to offset a good team performance from Cheltenham E who won 6-4. Two wins each for John Terry, Carey Maisey and Andy Smith saw them home.
With one player short, Cleeve Eagles had to be content to share the spoils with Cheltenham F. Derek Brown won all of his sets for Eagles. Zac France won Cheltenham’s only singles, and he and Andy Sutherland grabbed the doubles.
Three wins each for Andy Smith and John Terry gave Cheltenham E a comfortable 9-1 win over Cheltenham F. For the E side, Andy Sutherland beat James Bird in five games.
Old Saracens were 10-0 winners against Cheltenham H. A number of sets went to four games, but Saracens were stronger overall.
